Odell Beckham Jr. had an early warning for props bettors despite contract incentives on the line in Week 18

We’re heading into the final week of the NFL’s regular season, which is typically a risky time for bettors given all the teams that either rest starters or don’t have much to play for in Week 18.

But from a financial standpoint, individual players do have money on the line in this final week as it’s one last chance to hit incentive bonuses. Players and their teammates are well aware of those bonuses too. Even Tom Brady refused to leave a game two seasons ago until Rob Gronkowski hit his bonus. There’s real motivation behind it.

Yet, we won’t see a similar scenario with the Ravens and Odell Beckham Jr. this weekend. And OBJ wanted bettors to know that on Thursday.

Beckham would’ve gone into Saturday’s game against the Steelers needing five receptions for a $250,000 bonus. A monster game (two touchdowns and 185 yards) could have netted him an additional $1.25 million.

With the Ravens clinching the No. 1 seed and Beckham’s injury history, there was no reason to risk it. Shortly after the Instagram comment, Beckham was officially ruled out for Saturday’s game.

The existing bets on OBJ props will void, but hey, the early warning was still a nice touch.
