Jazz Rally in Second Half to Beat Thunder

The Utah Jazz used a 10-2 run late in the fourth quarter to take the lead for good and beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 124-to-117 on Tuesday night at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

Lauri Markkanen hit a jumper, then a three-pointer to score the clinching points in the final minute and a half for the Jazz.

Markkanen finished with a game high 33 points.

Utah fell behind by double digits in the third quarter, but went on 21-4 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to regain the lead before the Thunder rallied to briefly take the lead on a three-pointer by Jalen Williams with 3:53 to play.

Williams was playing for the first time since missing three games with an injury and had 26 points.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led OKC with 28 points and the Thunder led by seven at halftime.

Chet Holmgren sparked the Thunder early in the third quarter with three 3-pointers and a pair of alley-oop dunks to give OKC an 86-75 lead.

Holmgren had 22 points and 8 rebounds.

The Thunder made 19 three-pointers, with nine different OKC players making a three.

OKC shot 48 percent from the field, but the Jazz shot 52 percent overall and outrebounded the Thunder 48-32.

The Thunder fall to 35-16 on the season, but remain in a tie for first place in the Western Conference standings with Minnesota, after they lost on the road Tuesday night at Chicago.

OKC gets three days off before playing at Dallas Saturday at 2:00 pm.
