Sooners Surge in Second Half to Beat BYU

In their first and only regular season meeting against Brigham Young as Big 12 opponents, Oklahoma used a strong second half to beat the Cougars 82-66 on Tuesday night at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.

OU shot 59 percent from the field in the second half and held BYU to just 31 percent in the second half.

The game was tied at 34 at halftime, but BYU went cold from long range, making just 3-of-15 from three-point range in the second half.

Javian McCollum led the Sooners with 20 points and was one of four OU players in double figure scoring.

Milos Uzan had 16 points, Rivaldo Soares 12 and Jalon Moore 11.

OU shot 13 more free throw attempts than BYU, and made 11 more than the Cougars.

Oklahoma finished the game on a 7-0 run to end with their largest lead of the game.

The Sooners improved to 17-6 overall, 5-5 in Big 12 play.

OU hosts Oklahoma State in the first round of Bedlam Saturday at 6:00 pm.
