4 golfers (Justin Thomas!) who shockingly missed the cut at the 2024 Genesis Invitational

The top 50 and anyone within 10 strokes of the lead were safe this weekend, but these players weren't able to cut it.

The Genesis Invitational didn’t go as planned for the week’s marquee group of Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland and host Tiger Woods.

Woods was forced to withdraw early in Friday’s second round with what’s been described as flu-like symptoms. He was treated with an IV as his team made clear there was no injury involved in his decision to pull out of the field. Woods was one-over par through six holes when on Friday when he was driven off the course in a cart.

Thomas, meanwhile, could never get his game going and went 72-73 to finish three-over par. Woodland just barely avoided a similar fate as he birdied No. 17 on Friday to move to even par and get off the cut line.

The cut was a bit different at the signature event this year as the top 50 made it to the weekend along with any golfer within 10 strokes of the lead.

Here are some of more the surprising names who couldn’t get over that threshold.
