Justin Fields Trade Stock Possibly Elevated By Former Bears Coach Recent Comments

The 2024 League Year and Free Agency signing period kick off on March 13, giving us just under a month until then. Expect a vast amount of rumors during this time as teams gear up to shape their rosters for the upcoming season. In recent news, the Las Vegas Raiders hired Luke Getsy, former Offensive Coordinator for the Chicago Bears, to fill their vacant offensive coordinator position. Getsy recently met with the media in Las Vegas for the first time on Friday. Naturally, he fielded questions about his tenure in Chicago and specifically about Justin Fields, his former quarterback. Getsy had this to say about Fields.

“Tremendous growth for Justin…like I said when I was there, he’s one of the best human beings I’ve ever got to work with. It’s just the mentality that he brought every day, the consistent approach, the kind of man that he is. Just really, it was a blessing to work with him and he was someone that just came to work every day to get better and better, and I think he’ll continue to do so.”

Could Justin Fields end up in Las Vegas?

After these comments, many speculated whether Las Vegas could be a surprising destination for Justin Fields. While some fans were disgusted with the potential reunion of Luke Getsy and Fields, the Raiders might indeed be interested in acquiring such a talented quarterback. The key questions are whether Getsy would be open to collaborating with Fields again, which appears likely based on his comments, and how much draft capital Las Vegas would be willing to offer in a deal. Currently holding the 13th overall pick in the 2024 draft, it’s uncertain if the Raiders would be willing to include this pick in a potential trade. However, there have been rumors from NFL insiders suggesting that the Bears could command a high draft pick and possibly more in exchange for Fields. If the Bears were to part ways with Fields, obtaining the 13th pick in the draft would be a significant move, leaving them with picks 1, 9, and 13.
