The 10 best NFL free agents on Day 3 of a picked-over market
It feels like the whole NFL wide receiver market is waiting on one man.
Calvin Ridley’s future has been a sticking point through both days of legal tampering before the official start of the 2024 free agent marketplace. The Jacksonville Jaguars wideout, a former All-Pro who returned to the field last fall after leaving the game for personal reasons, serving a year’s suspension for gambling on football and then being traded from the Atlanta Falcons, is arguably the most valuable free agent receiver not to earn this year’s franchise tag.
As teams wait on his decision and the contract terms that follow — reportedly a bidding war between the Jaguars and the New England Patriots — the rest of this year’s crop of veteran targets has waited in the wings. Tee Higgins’ trade request with the Cincinnati Bengals has been put on hold. Marquise Brown’s future in Arizona remains in suspension. Of this year’s top 102 free agents, the only WR who wasn’t locked in before the tampering period to be signed is new Atlanta Falcon Darnell Mooney.
That doesn’t make him the highest profile free agent still lingering on the market, however. These are the best 10 veterans available after two days of signings.
