Kirk Cousins offered a classy farewell message to Vikings fans before officially signing with the Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons made the biggest splash in NFL free agency when they agreed to terms with Kirk Cousins on Monday as the team’s new starting quarterback.

The Falcons have been a team that has hovered around .500 the past few seasons with dismal quarterback play. And the addition of Cousins should immediately jump Atlanta into contender status within a weak NFC South. That prospect had to be exciting for Cousins, but the actual departure from Minnesota was clearly bittersweet.

As Cousins — who spent six seasons with the Vikings — arrived in Atlanta, he took to Twitter and posted a farewell video to the Vikings and their fans.

It’s never easy for any star player to leave a team, particularly one that brought success. But Cousins handled that goodbye with absolute class. He wanted an opportunity to say thank you before he officially signed his Falcons contract.
