Hey, remember Edgerrin James?

Of course you do. He’s a legendary NFL running back who won two rushing titles and an Offensive Rookie of the Year title.

And if you want to feel old: His son, Jizzle James, is part of the Cincinnati Bearcats’ hoops team you may see play in men’s March Madness. The point guard — as of writing this — averaged 7.8 ppg in 17.8 minutes per game.

But his actual name is Edgerrin James Jr. So if you’re wondering where “Jizzle” came from, you’ve come to the right place.

Per WCPO Cincinnati, here’s what James had to say about his name:

“Jizzle is like my on-court persona,” Jizzle said.

“Oh Jizzle?! I was creating a monster with that name right there. We had to create something special. We had my same name. I always tell him that’s his alter ego, when he turns into Jizzle he turns into a whole other person,” Edgerrin said.

“Being Jizzle is just being like on the court just playing hard expressing myself. I got the same name as my dad so he tried to, he gave me a name who I could be myself. So I use that and just use it just to play with an extra edge on the court,” Jizzle said.
