Middle of Game Surge Leads Thunder to Rout of Suns

The Oklahoma City Thunder outscored the Phoenix Suns by 19 points in the middle two quarters and went on to win 128-103 on Friday night in downtown Oklahoma City.

The Thunder led by two after one quarter, but were up 21 by the end of the third quarter and led by as many as 28 points to complete a three-game season sweep of the Suns.

Seven OKC players scored in double figures, including all five starters, led by Josh Giddey with 23 points, his third straight game to score at least 20 points.

Chet Holmgren had 20 points, while Cason Wallace and Jalen Willams had 16 points each.

Wallace was 4-for-4 from three-point range.

Aaron Wiggins had 15 points, Isaiah Joe 14 and Luguentz Dort 11.

The Thunder shot 56 percent from the field and were 16-for-30 from three-point range.

Former Thunder star Kevin Durant had 26 points to lead Phoenix, in just his second game in OKC in a Suns uniform.

The Thunder were once again without the injured Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, nursing a thigh contusion.

OKC improves to 51-22 on the season and they start a five-game Eastern Conference road trip at New York on Sunday night at 6:00.
