UConn fans are livid with the NCAA after the players were given tiny hotel beds at the Final Four

More fuel for Danny Hurley.

UConn may be the defending national champion, but nothing about its road to the men’s Final Four has been easy. After dealing with mechanical and staffing issues with their charter flight to Phoenix, the Huskies eventually arrived in Arizona (on Allegiant!) after 3 a.m. Pacific Time.

At that point, the players and entire traveling party must have been thrilled to get to their hotel in Downtown Phoenix. But UConn fans quickly noticed that something was amiss.

The NCAA, which makes all the travel arrangements for the NCAA tournament, appeared to have UConn players booked in double beds while NC State’s DJ Burns was given a spacious king room at the Wolfpack’s team hotel.

Now, UConn and NC State aren’t at the same hotels. Huskies are at the Sheraton (a newly renovated hotel), and NC State is at the Renaissance. So, the actual room assignments could have been a hotel-specific call and not on the NCAA. But still, you’d expect the NCAA to ensure that every player was given a comparable room. You can’t have 7-foot-2 Donovan Clingan sleeping on that tiny bed.

This wouldn’t be the first time that UConn has had NCAA-related hotel issues either as the team had to ditch the atrocious Luxor for Resorts World while in Las Vegas for the Sweet 16/Elite Eight in 2023.

Needless to say, UConn fans were not happy to see the disparity.

This was how Twitter reacted
