Caleb Williams sent a cold-blooded text to new Bears punter Tory Taylor right after he was drafted

After hitting multiple home runs over the first couple of days at the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears were the early talk of the league on Saturday. Why? Because they drafted former Iowa punter Tory Taylor… in the fourth round!

But beyond the shock of seeing a specialist go so early, the Bears themselves don’t seem all that concerned about the investment in arguably Iowa’s best offensive weapon. In fact, No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams seems to appreciate he’ll have good support on the Bears’ third phase — even if he thinks he doesn’t need it.

According to The Athletic’s Adam Jahns, Taylor revealed that Williams wasted no time texting him after the Bears drafted the punter. He told Taylor that his services would not be very necessary. Phew.
