The Toronto Maple Leafs are likely going to have to face their win-or-go-home playoff game without Auston Matthews in the lineup.

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs matchup between the Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins is set for Tuesday night and reports suggest that Matthews will be unable to play due to injury. Matthews was held out of the third period of Saturday’s Game 4 due to an illness, but a report from The Athletic states that the Maple Leafs’ star is also battling an injury which could hold him out for Tuesday’s game.

And it seems as if bettors are looking to cash in on Matthews’ absence by betting big on the Bruins. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the overwhelming majority of bets are coming in on the side of the Bruins, with many bettors believing Boston could win by at least two goals.

Given Matthews’ uncertain status for Tuesday and the way the Maple Leafs have played in the playoffs thus far, it doesn’t seem like a bad bet, especially with the Bruins looking to clinch the series on home ice to boot.
