MLB fans ripped umpire C.B. Bucknor for a blown strike call to end White Sox-Cardinals immediately out of a 3 hour rain delay

Waited all that time just for the game to end like this.

MLB umpire C.B. Bucknor isn’t a stranger to making bad calls behind the plate. Just a few days ago, Orioles broadcaster Jim Palmer ripped him for a bad call. But the timing of his latest miss call left fans especially miffed Saturday.

The St. Louis Cardinals were trailing the Chicago White Sox 6-5 in the bottom of the 10th inning, with two outs and the bases juiced when the game went into a three-hour rain delay.

Everyone invested in the game had to wait all that time to see how those tense final moments would play out. But when the game finally resumed, with Ivan Herrera at the plate facing an 0-1 count, Bucknor ended it a mere minute later on an awful called strike three.

Here’s how the Cardinals broadcast reacted to the call:

That is such a foul way to end a game after all that time.

MLB fans were disgusted, though not entirely surprised.
