Fury vs. Usyk weigh-in results: Tyson Fury has near 30-pound edge over Oleksandr Usyk
Tyson Fury entered Fury vs. Usyk fight week much leaner than when he faced Francis Ngannou, but he’ll still hold a significant weight advantage over Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury and Usyk battle for the undisputed heavyweight title on Saturday in Saudi Arabia. At Friday’s weigh-in, both championship competitors were successful on the scales, as expected, for their historic matchup. Fury weighed in at a trim 262 pounds, while the former undisputed cruiserweight champion tipped the scales at 233.5 pounds, more than 12 pounds heavier than he was for his win over Daniel Dubois.
“The Gypsy King” came in 15 pounds lighter than he did for his split decision win over Francis Ngannou this past October.
In the co-main event, Jai Opetaia faces Mairis Briedis for the vacant IBF cruiserweight title. Opetaia successfully hit the scales at 198.1 pounds, while Briedis was a pound heavier, but good to go at 199.1 pounds.
Only one fighter on Saturday’s 10-fight slate missed weight — Hasibullah Ahmadi, who was 1.7 pounds over for his featherweight card opener against Isaac Lowe.
