Paddy Power kick-off hunt for ‘England’s best penalty takers’ as they launch ‘new airline’ for dream Euro 2024 trip

They will have to score a penalty first.

Ahead of Euro 2024 PaddyPower has challenged Three Lions fans to score in a penalty shootout.

The firm is inviting football fans from across Britain to shoot their shot at Leyton Orient’s Brisbane Road on June 8.

Five finalists will win a trip to Germany on a private jet named ‘Paddy Fairlines’ to watch England’s opening match against Serbia.

They will also be able to invite three friends along for the journey.

Rachael Kane, a spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “As we hurtle towards the Euros, England remain firm favourites to win the 2024 tournament outright. If they succeed it will be their first major tournament win since the 1966 World Cup.

“But they’ve lost seven out of nine penalty shootouts in major tournament finals. So, it feels only fitting that we put our potential passengers through their paces if they want to land a spot on Paddy’s exclusive jet. It doesn’t get fairer than that.

“We’re kicking off the Euros party a couple of weeks early to find England’s greatest penalty takers.

“Once we’ve found them and sent footage of their technique straight to St. George’s Park so Southgate and Co. can take notes, we’ll bring our lucky winners on a trip of a lifetime to Gelsenkirchen which we’re reliably informed is somewhere near Düsseldorf.”

A number of well-known names are also expected to be in attendance to take advantage of a second chance to “redeem” their reputation.

Gareth Southgate named his 33-man provisional squad for Euro 2024 last week.

England are preparing for another shot at glory after losing the last European Championship final to Italy on penalties three years ago.

The Three Lions have been drawn against Serbia, Slovenia and Denmark in the group stages.

Southgate’s side are one of the favourites to go all the way this summer.

Entrants for the challenge must be over 18 and can register in advance via www.paddypowershootout.com
