Caleb Williams Personally Helped Out A Bears Fan. But There Was A Twist

It hasn’t taken long for Caleb Williams to ingratiate himself to the city of Chicago. He’s only been with the Bears for a couple of months, but he’s already been spotted at Cubs and White Sox games and in local restaurants yacking it up with fans. He presents himself as a man of the people. Maybe it’s all a PR effort, but most people who knew Williams in college said this is who he is. He’s an outgoing person. Another thing we’ve learned is he has a strong presence on social media. When somebody mentions him, he is almost sure to hear about it.

One prominent Bears fan found that out. Connor Burns regularly talks about the team on social media. He recently ran into a problem. He ordered a Williams jersey on draft night, but for whatever reason, Fanatics still hasn’t delivered it over a month later.

To his shock, the quarterback responded to the call for help only three days later. He promised after talking to Fanatics that Burns would be one of the first people to receive their jersey.

The story is awesome by itself. However, it gets better. People might be shocked to learn that Burns wasn’t a big fan of Williams. He made that abundantly clear on TikTok a few months ago.

Caleb Williams seems to be a good sport about it.

After all, he helped Burns anyway. The truth is, his dislike for the quarterback didn’t come from anything personal. Burns admitted he wasn’t happy about the idea of Chicago drafting the quarterback because he was a big fan of Justin Fields. He felt the former Bears QB had done a lot to help the organization improve during the rebuild. Still, he was forced to face reality. By the end of the regular season, even he admitted that Williams was the best decision for the franchise.

This gesture is almost certain to win over anybody. All signs indicate Connor is now squarely in the Caleb Williams camp. He and many others will soon have their jerseys. One can safely assume there will be a long of #18s out those Soldier Field stands when the Tennessee Titans come to visit for the opener. Don’t be shocked if Burns is among them.
