SEC announces kickoff time windows for all OU football games

(KFOR) -- Sooner fans should be excited to know the number of possible 11am kickoff times is cut down significantly this season. On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference announced kickoff time windows for all of its league games for the 2024 football regular season.

Each game was marked with an Early (11am to 12pm), Afternoon (2:30pm to 3:30pm), Night (5pm to 7pm), or Flex (game can be flexed between afternoon and evening window) designation. The conference also said each exact start time within those windows will be confirmed no later than six days prior to the contest.

The SEC had previously announced the kickoff times for the first three games of the season. OU hosts Temple Friday August 30 at 6pm, before hosting Houston Saturday September 7 at 6:45pm, and then hosting Tulane Saturday September 14 at 2:30pm. We also recently learned that the OU-Texas game would be a 2:30pm kickoff on Saturday October 12.

Tuesday's announced windows include:
Saturday September 21 - Tennessee at Oklahoma (Flex)
Saturday September 28 - Oklahoma at Auburn (Afternoon)
Saturday October 19 - South Carolina at Oklahoma (Early)
Saturday October 26 - Oklahoma at Ole Miss (Early)
Saturday November 2 - Maine at Oklahoma (2:30pm)
Saturday November 9 - Oklahoma at Missouri (Flex)
Saturday November 23 - Alabama at Oklahoma (Flex)
Saturday November 30 - Oklahoma at LSU (Flex)

OU gets just two "early" start times, and those could still end up being noon kickoffs instead of 11am. The Sooners are guaranteed at least 10 games with 2:30pm start times or later. Last season OU had 7 games with early kickoffs.
