No American sports league sells hope (and misery) quite like the NFL.

By and large, most NFL fanbases watch a middling, uninspiring product year in and year out. They hold out hope that any one season will finally be different, that it’ll be the approximately five months they finally got to watch something special in the form of a deep postseason run. As painful as it can be, it’s an inherent part of the deal.

But some football-following people have it way worse than others.

With nearly 60 Big Games in the books, twelve NFL franchises have still never won the Super Bowl. That is over a third of the league that has never experienced the ultimate joy of touching that medium-sized silver football. And, needless to say, some of these squads are consistent bottom-feeders who are usually near the bottom of the standings anyway. It’s a harrowing existence.

Some of them, however, are in a much better place. The kind of place that can see them reach ultimate football nirvana as early as this February.
