Paige Spiranac teases shock Nathan’s hot dog eating contest appearance with 4th July ‘surprise’ to replace Joey Chestnut

INFLUENCER Paige Spiranac could be ready to save Nathan’s hot dog eating contest.

The annual Fourth of July event took a hit with the news that 16-time champion and competitive eating legend Joey Chestnut will not appear.

Organizers took issue with the fact that Chestnut, 40, signed a deal with Impossible Foods.

But Spiranac, 31, hinted that she may step up to her 4 million Instagram followers.

“So excited for you to see all the July 4th content I have planned for you plus a surprise,” she captioned a photo of herself in front of a plate of wieners on her Stories.

She was wearing a pair of denim shorts and a low-cut blue top covered in stars.

Spiranac made her name on the golf course before taking over social media.

Unfortunately, her sporting talents may not extend to competitive eating.

Spiranac shared a video of her guzzling hot dogs after the news broke of Chestnut’s ban.

Paige started a timer and then proceeded to eat as many hot dogs as she could in 10 minutes.

She decided to attack the sausages first and then polish off the buns.

Unfortunately, the beauty started to struggle after she reached her sixth hot dog – giving some to her dog to help out.

“That sucked, the technique of the two dogs at once was not it,” she said.

“I started out too aggressive and it was not the move, I should have just stuck with my plan of one at a time.

“The first part was just the density of it, I just had so much in my mouth that I could not swallow and that was the hardest part.

“It was like these huge chunks and I did not know what to do, so that was not fun.

“The smell of hotdogs are just making me gag right now.”

What's the beef?

Joey Chestnut will not be allowed to compete in this year's Hot Dog Eating Contest because of a new sponsorship.

Chestnut has won 16 Fourth of July contests and in 2021 are 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.

The hot dog eating competition is run by Major League Eating and sponsored by Nathan’s – a famous wiener brand.

And Chestnut has signed a deal with plant-based Impossible Foods.

That makes it impossible for him to now compete in the Nathan’s contest, unless something changes.

Chestnut said he was ‘gutted’ by the news he won’t be allowed to defend his title.

Chestnut’s record is an unfathomable 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

The Colossus of Kraut will be taking his talents to Texas instead of Coney Island this year.

He will take on soldiers on an army base on Independence Day after missing out on the event where he made his name.

Chestnut will attempt to out-eat four soldiers.

His effort will be ranked against their combined tally.

“If they (each) break ten, that’d be pretty good,” he said while fasting on water, lemon juice, and liquified calories to prepare, per the New York Post.
