Terumi Nuki to face unified champion Dina Thorslund in August!

Earlier today it was announced that hard hitting Japanese fighter Terumi Nuki (15-5, 10) [貫輝美] would be getting her 4th shot at a world title on August 30th, as she faces the unbeaten Danish fighter Dina Thorslund (22-0, 9), for the WBO and WBC Bantamweight titles, which Thorslund unified last September..

The news, shared by Håkan Johansson on Twitter, will see the ladies clash in Thorslund's native Denmark.
The unbeaten 30 year old Thorslund began her career in 2015, and climbed through the rankings, winning WBC Youth and European titles, before winning her first world title, the WBC "interim" Super Bantamweight title in 2018, beating the legendary Alicia Ashley. She later captured the WBO Super Bantamweight title before dropping to Bantamweight in 2021, winning the WBO title with a win over Jasseth Noriega, and really establishing herself as one of the best at 118lbs with wins over Zulina Munoz, Debora Anahi Lopez, Yuliahn Luna Avila, Mary Romero and Seren Cetin, with the win over Avila seeing her add the WBC title to her WBO belt.

In the ring she's aggressive, fast, fun to watch and although she's crude she is very, very fun to watch and throws a lot of leather. She lacks power, but does make up for it with output.

As for the challenger, the 35 year old Nuki made her debut in 2013 and won her first 6 bouts before coming up short in an OPBF title bout in  2015. She managed to claim her first title 2 years later before losing 3 of her following 4 bouts, though they were at world level with the defeats coming to Mariana Juarez, twice, and Debora Anahi Lopez. Those losses left her with a 10-4 record, though she has rebuilt since then, going 5-1, with the only loss coming to future world champion Mizuki Hiruta. Earlier this year she won the WBO Asia Pacific Bantamweight title, which she has defended once, to help her earn this bout.
