Video: Brawl erupts after Darren Till’s boxing debut ends in weird TKO win over ‘coward’

A brawl erupted in the boxing ring in Dubai right after the Darren Till vs. Mohammad Mutie fight at Social Knockout 3 on Saturday.

The UFC veteran worked with jabs in the first round while Mutie insisted on looping left hands in the four-round exhibition match. Both fighters came back more active in the second stanza before clinching, and that’s when Mutie complained he got hit in the back of the head.

The referee stopped the action and eventually ended the match. Mutie spent minutes on the ground, apparently in pain.

Before the official decision was read — it was later revealed that Till was awarded the TKO victory because Mutie “didn’t want to continue,” according to the promoter — Mutie walked to Till to again complain about the alleged illegal punch. Till stayed in his corner, but Mutie decided to attack him. Till responded with a push kick and it evolved to a huge melee.

Check out the brawl below.

“This is fighting, you get hit,” Till said after the brawl. “If you don’t wanna continue fighting, don’t be a fighter. He’s not a fighter. He’s not a real fighter. He’s a coward. And then, when I’m minding my own business, he comes and attack me.

“I’m so sorry. I’m not that guy. I’m a respectful guy. I love this sport. l love Dubai. I’ve been coming here since 2016 so I do want to apologize but I was standing there minding my own business and he came over to attack me with his team. I’ve got to defend myself. I’m really sorry about that guys.”

This was Till’s first match since asking for his UFC release in the first quarter of 202. He was granted his wish, revealing he would “some other shit for the foreseeable” and eventually return to the promotion.

Till said in his post-fight interview he’s interested in boxing Jake Paul, Tommy Fury and Mike Perry, calling them “scared cowards” and promising to “f*cking decapitate them.”
