‘Just f*cking chop it’: Watch Tracy Cortez cut hair to make weight for emotional UFC Denver headliner

Tracy Cortez lost the final half-pound pounds of her weight cut by cutting off a chunk of her hair. The sacrifice paid off, as her UFC Denver main event matchup with Rose Namajunas is now official.

The flyweight headliner caps off Saturday’s Fight Night card at Ball Arena. On Friday, Cortez missed weight at 126.5 pounds on her first attempt. She then returned minutes later with a clump of hair in her hand to hit 126 on the nose, reacting with a lot of emotion.

Shortly after making the bout official, Cortez posted the moment she chopped her hair off on her Instagram page, which you can check out in the video below.

Cortez is undefeated inside the octagon as she prepares for her biggest fight to date.

The 30-year-old standout was slated to fight Miranda Maverick at UFC Vegas 95, but Maycee Barber’s withdrawal from the UFC Denver main event led to Cortez getting the call.
