It’s officially the 2024 All-Star break, which means only one thing, the 2024 Home Run Derby is almost here.
A loaded field is headed to Arlington including the 2021 Home Run Derby champion, Pete Alonso.
Four teams from each league will be represented, including the man sure to be the hometown favorite, Adolis García.
Below we’ve got everything you need to know about this year’s Home Run Derby including TV and streaming information, the full roster, and some updated rules for 2024.

Updated 2024 Home Run Derby rules
There are no longer “seeds” in the opening round of the Home Run Derby. All eight contestants compete and the four with the most home runs advance to the semifinals.
In the semifinals, the player with the most home runs in the opening round will then face off against the player with the fourth most home runs in the opening round. The winner of that matchup advances to the finals. The same goes for the players with the second and third most home runs in the opening round.
Also new in 2024, there is a maximum pitch count per round. There is still a time limit, three minutes in opening two rounds and two minutes in the finals, but there is also a maximum of 40 pitches in the opening two rounds and 27 pitches in the final round.
No matter whether you love or hate the new rules, the Home Run Derby is special and Monday night’s event should be no different.
