Derek Jeter seemed so offended Colin Cowherd thought he in played Nolan Ryan's era

Another baseball blunder for Colin Cowherd

Sure, Derek Jeter is old. But he ain’t that old. That’s the only way to describe his reaction to Colin Cowherd mistakenly saying that the former Yankee lined up in the batter’s box against Nolan Ryan.

Cowherd interviewed Jeter on The Herd ahead of the Homerun Derby. The subject was Paul Skenes and how awesome he is. And, I guess, Cowherd thought to himself, “Hey, you know who else was an awesome pitcher? Nolan Ryan. Didn’t Jeter play against him?”

Why was that a thought for Cowhered? No idea. Derek Jeter played for 27 years and never once batted against Nolan Ryan, who retired two years before Jeter’s career started in 1995.

Jeter couldn’t let this one slide, folks.

“Obviously, you were in the Nolan Ryan era,” Cowherd mistakenly said. Jeter came back quickly with a “No, no, no, no, no. Slow down. No. I was way after Nolan. Way, way after Nolan.”

Sheesh. That’s rough. It’s certainly not the first time Cowherd has been off about baseball, though. Remember when he got fact-checked live on air about trading draft picks for Shohei Ohtani last year? Good times. Goooood times.

That’s rough, Cowherd.
