The medical suspensions from the recent UFC Denver card have been released with a couple of fighters facing indefinite layoffs until cleared by a physician.

The Colorado Combative Sports Commission handed down the suspensions with the full list sent to MMA Fighting on Thursday.

Perhaps the name near the top of that list for suspensions is veteran middleweight Cody Brundage, who had a short but rough night in what was essentially a hometown fight for him. A furious start to his fight against Abdul Razak Alhassan ended abruptly after referee Dan Miragliotta paused the contest with Brundage absorbing several illegal blows to the back of his head.

Miragliotta issued a warning to Alhassan just seconds earlier as he defended a takedown from Brundage while throwing a barrage of punches and elbows. Once the fight was paused, Brundage had time to recover but he struggled to get back on his feet after absorbing the punishment to the back of his head.

On the advice of the cageside physician, Brundage was not allowed to continue and Miragliotta ultimately ruled the fight as a no contest just 38 seconds into the opening round.

Brundage has now been suspended indefinitely by the commission until he gains clearance through a CT scan as well as a letter from his doctor before he can return to action in the UFC.

Welterweight fighter Ange Loosa also received an indefinite suspension from the commission due to a laceration on his toe. He’ll need to get doctor’s clearance from the injury before being allowed to compete again.

Those were the only indefinite suspensions handed down from the UFC Denver card.
