Raul Rosas Jr. faces Aoriqileng at UFC 306
Raul Rosas Jr. will be part of the second Noche UFC card after all.
On Sep. 14, UFC 306 take places at the Sphere in Las Vegas, with the entire event being branded around Mexican Independence Day as the second Noche UFC event. And at that event, Rosas will face Aoriqileng in a bantamweight bout. The news was first announced by Rosas’ management team Iridium Sports and later confirmed by MMA Fighting.
Rosas took part in the original Noche UFC event, defeating Terrence Mitchell in the featured bout of the evening in just 54 seconds. Earlier this year, Rosas returned to the cage with a second-round submission of Ricky Turcios at UFC Kentucky. Following that win, Rosas called for a step up in competition, but was most concerned with securing a spot on UFC 306. Rosas is 3-1 in the UFC, earning performance bonuses in each of his three victories.
Aoriqileng joined the UFC in 2021 and got off to a rocky start, losing his first two fights, but has since found his form, going 3-1 since then. Most recently, Aoriqileng fought to a no contest with Daniel Marcos when he was unable to continue after receiving multiple low blows in their fight at UFC Vegas 86.
While nothing is official at this point, UFC 306 is rumored to be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili, and will likely feature women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso defending her belt, perhaps in a trilogy bout with Valentina Shevchenko.
