Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea transfer boost as Victor Osimhen’s PSG transfer ‘on brink of collapse’

However, in order for the Serie A side to sell, would-be suitors need to match the 25-year-old’s massive £109.5m release clause.

PSG want to make a statement signing to replace superstar Kylian Mbappe, who left on a free this summer to join Real Madrid.

Calcio Mercato report the forward’s agent, Roberto Calenda, flew to Paris to facilitate negotiations.

This led to a call being held on Monday between club president’s Aurelio De Laurentiis and Nasser Al Khelaifi and sporting directors Giovanni Manna and Luis Campos.

However, these talks have led to the deal grinding to a halt, with PSG saying they have no intention of triggering the huge release clause.

The Italians did offer to reduce the fee if South Korea international Kang-In Lee was included in a deal, but this proposal was swiftly rejected.

Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele were then spoken about instead, though this idea was also struck down.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has added that under the current conditions, the deal is NOT happening.

The breakdown of talks has opened the door for the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United to bring him to the Premier League after all three have been linked as they seek attacking reinforcements.

The Red Devils have already landed Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro and are now prioritising a move for PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte, while Jadon Sancho is said to be close to moving in the other direction.

It’s been a quiet window so far at the Emirates, though Bologna and Italy Euro 2024 star Riccardo Calafiori is slowly closing in on a move to the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have already signed seven players this summer, with the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, Tosin Adarabioyo and Marc Guiu among the most noteworthy arrivals.

While talks over his future continue, Osimhen has started pre-season with Napoli under their new boss Antonio Conte.

Osimhen netted 17 goals in 32 games last season, setting his overall record for the club at 76 goals in 133 games since joining from Lille in 2020.

He was also crucial in the team’s title winning campaign in 2022/23 as he bagged 31 goals in 39 games to lead them land their first league title since the Diego Maradona-inspired 1990 team.

In terms of potential replacements, Napoli could soften their stance on Osimhen if they complete a deal to land Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku.
