Reiss Nelson set for Premier League transfer switch as Arsenal hold talks over letting homegrown star leave
LEICESTER CITY have opened talks with Arsenal over a loan deal for Reiss Nelson.
And the Championship winners will also include an obligation to buy.
If the Gunners can agree financial terms, it would reunite the 24-year-old winger with Foxes boss Steve Cooper.
He managed Nelson for England’s under-16’s and under-17’s.
And Cooper hopes the attraction of regular first team football will convince him to move to the King Power.
Nelson made his Arsenal debut under Arsene Wenger in 2017/18.
But he has been unable to nail down a regular starting position ever since.
Despite making 23 appearances in all competitions last season, his best figures so far, he struggled for starts under Mikel Arteta.
Nelson only started one Premier League match last season, against Luton Town.
And in all competitions, the winger has made just 10 starts over two years.

Cooper hopes he can help Nelson rekindle the form which saw him make it into the Team of the Tournament at the Under-17 European Championships in 2017.
While Arsenal could put any cash saved into this summer’s transfer kitty.
The Gunners have made just one permanent signing in David Raya following last season’s loan spell.
A £42million deal for Italy centre-back Riccardo Calafiori is getting closer.
And Arsenal also fancy the look of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.
But reports claim they face missing out on Real Soceidad’s Mikel Merino.
That’s because Chelsea are said to have joined the race for Spain’s Euros winner, who fancies a Premier League return after a spell at Newcastle.
