DJ Moore had one of the best receiving seasons in Chicago Bears history last year, topping 1300 yards with eight touchdowns. He pretty much was the team’s offense. The fact he did it with a quarterback who was never known for being a great passer only elevated the accomplishment. So, in retrospect, it shouldn’t be a surprise GM Ryan Poles moved quickly to lock up the 27-year-old to a four-year extension worth $110 million. It is a well-deserved payday for one of the team’s cornerstone players. Plenty of teammates had positive reactions to the news, but the best came from his quarterback, Caleb Williams.

With another $82.6 million guaranteed coming his way, Moore has the financial security every football dreams of. The least he can do is pick up the tab whenever the team goes out to dinner. One can imagine Caleb Williams will go to the fanciest restaurants in Chicago just to mess with him. Putting that aside, nobody benefits from this development more than the quarterback. With Moore under contract and the drafting of Rome Odunze, Williams has two potential stud receivers for the next five years. You couldn’t ask for a better setup. This isn’t even accounting for Cole Kmet, who also got his extension last season.
