Olympics 2024 cyclist pulls into packed PUB mid-race to use the TOILET as he’s cheered on by rowdy punters
AN OLYMPIC cyclist stopped mid-race to use the toilet in a nearby pub.
Germany star Nils Politt rushed inside a packed pub to relieve himself during the men’s road race.
The incident happened around halfway through the 280km race of attrition.
Politt was seen coming out of the pub Cafe des 2 Moulin, which featured in the 2001 film Amelie, having parked up his bike on the course.
Thousands of fans roared on with delight at the amusing scene, with many filming Politt getting back into the race.
The 30-year-old had been part of the lead group during the early stages of the race before falling away.
Politt, who won a stage in the Tour de France in 2021, finished 70th – almost 20 minutes behind winner Remco Evenepoel.
The Belgian made a devastating attack with around 40km and crossed the line solo to pick up his second gold in the space of a week.
Evenepoel also came out on top in the men’s time trial, just days after finishing third in the Tour de France.
He even suffered a puncture in the final four kilometres but maintained his composure and held on for a famous win.
