JULIAN ALVAREZ’S move to Atletico Madrid could reportedly be off due to his personal terms.

Alvarez, 24, has two years left to run on his contract at the Etihad but is keen to gain more playing time.

However, he could find himself remaining in Manchester for the time being.

This is because there has been a disagreement between his salary and contract length, as reported by GiveMeSport.

It is claimed that Atletico are working hard to try and resolve the issues.

Fabrizio Romano has added that the offer is not what was “expected” by Alvarez and that the whole deal could “collapse”.

As a result Chelsea‘s transfer plans could be majorly scuppered.

It is added that Atletico would sell Samu Omorodion following the arrival of Alvarez.

The striker could now be set to stay as well as Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

The midfielder was thought to also be on his way to Spain to complete a transfer to Atletico.

However, Romano has reported that the two transfers involving the Blues will only go ahead if Atletico sign Alvarez.

Furthermore, it is claimed that Atletico have upped their offer to Alvarez in order to seal a deal.

But there is a difference of between £2m and £3m as manager Diego Simeone pushes to complete the transfer.

Alvarez moved to the Etihad for just £14m only two years ago.

He has since helped the club win the Treble in his first season before winning the title again last term.

He made more appearances than any other City player last season but is unhappy at being left out of key games.

Arsenal were said to be monitoring the Argentine following his revelation, but they may be unwilling to match Atletico’s bid.
