Mills was on course to finish in eighth place before he tumbled to the track after colliding with Spain’s Thierry Ndikumwenayo.

He was visibly overcome with emotion and irate after eventually crossing the line.

And he angrily confronted one of his fellow runners moments after the culmination of the race.

The 25-year-old blew his lid at France‘s Hugo Hay, whom he stormed after.

Hay tried to calm down Mills, but the Brit wasn’t having any of it.

Mills continued to berate the Frenchman, despite his rival’s attempts to diffuse the situation.

Hay even put his arm around Mills to try and put an end to the bad blood.

But a furious Mills shrugged him off before appearing to tell him to “f**k off.”

Mills was furious with Hay as they had a slight tangle on the final bend as the latter tried to push forward.

That tangle prompted Mills to fall into one Ndikumwenayo and potentially end his dream of winning Olympic gold.

When asked what he said to Hay, Mills said: “I’m probably not allowed to say.”

Mills ended up finishing the race in 18TH PLACE with a time of 14:37.08.

That was nearly a whole 20 seconds behind race winner Narve Gilje Nordas.

Hay was left gobsmacked by Mills reaction and insists he did nothing wrong.

The 27-year-old said: “I’m really surprised. I just hope that I didn’t do anything and I will not be disqualified.

“For me, that was nothing. Like I said to George, I will watch the images and if I’m the guy that did it, I will apologize.

“For me, I didn’t do anything. I just hope that I can go in the final.”
