Viral Olympics 2024 pole vaulter whose bulge KO’d medal dreams jokes about his ‘package’ in now-deleted video

ANTHONY AMMIRATI made a hilarious joke about his bulge after it cost him Olympic glory.

In a video that appears to have since been deleted from his TikTok page, the 21-year-old finally referenced his viral moment.

In the men’s pole vault, Ammirati looked to have cleared 5.70 metres.

But disaster struck as his private parts clipped the bar and knocked it down with him.

It meant the Frenchman narrowly missed out on qualifying for the final – but he is now an internet sensation.

Ammirati was devastated as his Olympics dream was shattered – though he now sees the funny side.

He took to social media to reference his now famous bulge, posting a clip of himself blankly staring into space while eating alongside the caption: “POV: You make more buzz for your package than for your performances.”

On a more serious note, the gold medal winner at the World Under-20 Championships admitted he was carrying an injury as he crashed out in Paris.

Ammirati said: “It’s a big disappointment. I’m a bit gutted because I didn’t miss anything on the third attempt at 5.70m.

“What I did miss was a bit of jumping in training to fine-tune the settings. Just a technical session.
