Wilfried Zaha set to be offered shock Premier League transfer return as Galatasaray approve exit

WILFRIED ZAHA is being lined-up for a shock return to Crystal Palace, according to reports.

The former Eagles talisman left the club on a free transfer last summer to join Turkish giants Galatasaray.

But the club now see him as surplus to requirements and want to get him off the wage bill.

Galatasaray have offered Zaha to several Premier League clubs according to The Telegraph.

But clubs have been put off the £9million loan fee the Turkish giants are asking for.

Galtasaray want £9m to both balance their FFP concerns and cover the wages Zaha currently earns.

He is paid around £106,000-a-week at Galatasaray according to reports.

The player earned £130k-a-week at Palace and was reportedly offered £200k-a-week by the club to extend his deal that expired last summer.

But Zaha wanted to play Champions League football and opted to join Galatasaray instead.

Zaha scored 10 and assisted five times in 42 games for Galatsaray last season.

While a decent return, he was unfavoured by manager Okan Buruk as the season drew to a close.

It would be the Palace legend’s third spell at the club, having returned to Palace in 2014 following an unhappy spell at Manchester United.

Zaha is well regarded by Palace chairman Steve Parish and director of football Dougie Freedman – but Galatasaray’s desired loan fee would be a considerable stumbling block.

Palace have been rocked by interest in their star players this summer, with Michael Olise already leaving to join Bayern Munich.

Marc Guehi is wanted by Newcastle and Tottenham continue to be linked with Eberechi Eze.

As well as their reported interest in Zaha, they are looking at a deal for Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah.
