UFC Vegas 95 weigh-in results: Chelsea Chandler misses by 5 pounds, two others over the limit

Chelsea Chandler fell short at the scale again.

For a second straight fight, Chandler came in over the bantamweight limit, this time not even coming close as she registered at 141 pounds — five pounds over the limit for a non-title fight — at Friday’s official morning weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 95. Her opponent Yana Santos successfully weighed in at 135.5 pounds.

Chandler has competed in the UFC at 140 and 145 pounds and is yet to actually hit the bantamweight mark. She was scheduled to compete at 135 pounds against Josiane Nunes this past March, but weighed in at 137 pounds. Chandler went on to defeat Nunes by unanimous decision.

She wasn’t the only one who struggled at the scale. Chepe Mariscal weighed in at 149 pounds, 3 pounds over the non-title featherweight limit, while Danny Barlow came in at 171.25 pounds, 0.25 over the non-title welterweight limit.

Chandler’s bout with Santos, Mariscal’s bout with Damon Jackson (146), and Barlow’s bout with Nikolay Veretennikov (170.5) are set to proceed as catchweight bouts. Purse penalties are yet to be made official.

Saturday’s heavyweight headliners Marcin Tybura and Serghei Spivac are on point for their rematch, with Tybura in at 252 pounds and Spivac at 238. Tybura previously defeated Spivac by unanimous decision when they first fought at UFC Norfolk in February 2020.
