‘I don’t think there’s going to be a feeling out round’: Ortiz expects early action in fight with Bohachuk
Vergil Ortiz and Serheii Bohachuk are familiar with one another from past sparring sessions, and Ortiz believes their fight will pick up right where they left off.
Ahead of Saturday’s super middleweight fight between Vergil Ortiz and Serheii Bohachuk, both fighters appeared at a final press conference to discuss their impending battle with prospects of an even bigger fight on the horizon.
Neither Ortiz nor Bohachuk are known to be big talkers so much of what was said came from their respective trainers, but we’ve got the full final press conference video and face off at the top courtesy of Fight Hub TV.
Ortiz on fighting Bohachuk
“It’s exciting because we’ve sparred before...When two fighters don’t know each other they got to feel each other out — well, I don’t think there’s going to be a feeling out round. We’re going to pick up right where we left off and it’s going to be an exciting fight.”
Bohachuk on his sparring experience with Ortiz
“I am told before ‘sparring is sparring, fight is fight. It’s different, you know. And this Saturday I show different, I show more...It will be very hard.”
At the end of the final face off Bohachuk would extend his hand as a show of sportsmanship, but Ortiz was having none of it as he shows he’s all business ahead of this weekend’s main event.
