Jake Paul vows to enter 2028 Olympics for boxing: ‘Gold medal, you’re mine’

Jake Paul has added a new goal to his boxing bucket list.

The 10-1 pro boxer, who just stopped Mike Perry this past month in Tampa, declared on Friday that he plans to compete in the 2028 Summer Olympics as a boxer.

“I’m going to enter the 2028 Olympics for boxing in Los Angeles,” Paul said on his podcast BS w/ Jake Paul. “I’m sick and tired of waiting around, waiting for another gold for Team U.S.A. ... I probably just added a couple more years on to my boxing career because of that, but Los Angeles, United States, sick as f*ck.”

Paul’s next boxing match takes place in November, as he faces former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on a massive card at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which serves as the first combat sports event to stream live on Netflix.

As of now, it is unknown whether or not boxing will be on the docket for the 2028 Games. On Friday, International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach said during a press conference that a decision will be made by the end of 2025. The IOC is handling the boxing side of things for this year’s Games, but they are urging national boxing organizations to create a global governing body in order for the sport to continue on in the Games.

Paul seems confident he will get his chance to become an Olympian, and if he does, he promises to stand on the podium.

“Actually, I’m just going to do it,” Paul said. “Why not? 2028 Olympics, you heard it here first. Gold medal — you’re mine, brother.”
