Man Utd miss out on £25m midfielder target to Fulham leaving Scott McTominay in transfer limbo

FULHAM are close to agreeing a deal for Burnley midfielder Sander Berge, according to reports.

The Cottagers will pay £20million for the midfielder plus a potential further £5m in add-ons.

A medical has been booked for the Norwegian at Fulham‘s training ground tomorrow according to The Athletic.

The news comes as a blow for Manchester United, who had been considering Berge, 26, among their midfield targets.

It also leaves Man Utd midfielder Scott McTominay in transfer limbo.

Fulham have submitted a number of bids for the Scotland star this summer.

But United have been determined to keep hold of him, despite the midfielder not being a first-choice for Erik ten Hag.

SunSport reported earlier that McTominay is not short of interest should he want to leave.

Both Crystal Palace and Brighton are both keen on the Scot and United would cash-in for the right price.

United are thought to be holding out for up to £35m for the player who they still rate highly.

McTominay is said to be a popular figure in the United dressing room and would be welcomed back into the team with open arms if a move does not materialise.

The player was linked with a move to West Ham for most of last summer but they are not said to be interested this summer.

McTominay played 43 times for United last season, scoring ten times and registering three assists.
