ProBox Undercard Report: Michael Angeletti, Ivan Dychko Post Wins To Remain Unbeaten

Michael Angeletti conquered an awkward style matchup to preserve his perfect record.

The unbeaten bantamweight prospect enjoyed a strong second half surge en route to a unanimous decision over Geraldo Valdez. Scores were 97-93, 98-92 and 98-92 for Angeletti in their ProBox TV co-feature Wednesday evening from ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida.

Valdez was billed as a potential spoiler, though he only succeeded in slowing down the action to a crawl. Angeletti (12-0, 7 knockouts)—who hails from the greater Houston area—needed a few rounds to get his offense untracked. He eventually found his rhythm on the back end of their ten-round contest. Valdez (16-2, 11 KOs) was visibly hurt in the later rounds but managed to hear the final bell.

Angeletti was inactive for much of 2024—sadly not an uncommon theme for Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) fighters lately. However, the 28-year-old has now picked up two wins in less than seven weeks. Both have come outside of the PBC universe.

Two-time Olympic Bronze medalist Ivan Dychko (14-0, 13 KOs) scored two knockdowns in a second-round knockout of Craig Lewis. The one-way bout saw Lewis floored midway through round two and warned for twice losing his mouthpiece. Referee Gene Del Bianco seemed all too eager to end the fight. He jumped in once Lewis touched the canvas for the second knockdown. The official time was 2:05 of round two. Dychko picked up his first win since last June.

Dominic Valle (10-0, 7 KOs) outlasted Venezuela’s Kevin Piedrahita in an eight-round unanimous decision victory. Scores were 79-73, 79-73 an 78-74 for Valle, who was stunned twice in round seven and nose bloodied late in the fight.
