Mo Salah drops major hint on Liverpool future amid stunning start under Slot after club turned down £150m transfer bid

MO SALAH has provided the biggest hint yet that he will walk alone from Liverpool at the end of this season.

And that is likely to have the club’s owners Fenway Sports Group kicking themselves after they rejected a £150m offer from Al-Ittihad a year ago.

They decided to gamble on Anfield’s Egyptian king signing a new deal but their plan looks certain to backfire.

For Salah has told Sky Sports : “I don’t want to think about the next year or the future.

“I just want to enjoy the last year and let’s see.

“Before the season I was just like ‘I’ve got on year left, let’s enjoy it and don’t think about the contract.

“The most important thing is to take one day at a time and just be grateful to be here.”

The attacker, 32, certainly seems to be enjoying himself under new boss Arne Slot.

He scored in both the Dutchman’s opening wins over Ipswich Town and Brentford.

Last Sunday’s clincher in the 2–0 victory over the Bees was his 213th goal for the club since arriving from Roma in 2017 in 351 appearances.

Salah will face Manchester United this weekend having made an astonishing 301 goal contributions and has been top scorer for seven campaigns in a row.

He is Liverpool’s highest earner on £375,000 a week but American owners FSG, while they want him to stay, have no intention of offering him the same riches to remain.

Meanwhile as the most famous Muslim player in world football he could earn a mind-boggling £2million-a-week by going to the Saudi Pro League.

He is understood to be “open” to the idea of joining the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and his old Anfield team mate Sadio Mane.

Salah hasn’t shut the door on staying on Merseyside but boss Slot and FSG are preparing for the worst.

Juventus winger Federico Chiesa arrived in Liverpool on Wednesday to complete a medical after a deal worth £10million plus £2.5million in add-ons was agreed.

The 26 year old Italy international well become Slot’s first outfield signing of the summer following the capture of  Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia on Tuesday

The Georgia goalkeeper will move formally to Anfield, subject to a work permit and international clearance being granted, before the 2025-26 season – paving the way for current No.1 Alisson to leave.

The Brazilian, like now seems certain with Salah, may well also be destined for the untold riches of Saudi.
