The sides attracted more than 11,000 to Perpignan’s Stade Gilbert Brutus for the Warriors’ 26-18 win on Saturday.

But SunSport has learned there are plans to take a fixture between them to the French capital in 2026.

Stade Jean Bouin is likely to be the venue as a celebration of 30 years since the first Super League match between Paris St Germain and Sheffield Eagles.

Then in 2027 or 2028, they will be going back to Barcelona – where the Dragons attracted a record crowd for a single match in 2019.

Redevelopment of the Camp Nou has prevented a return to the Catalonian capital so far.

But it is believed an offer to go back is on the table, with the same opponents facing each other.

And initial talks have been held between Wigan and Catalans about going back to the football cathedral.

Sources say the year of the match depends on when the home of Barcelona is fully completed.

Talks have started about staging a Catalans v Wigan match at Barcelona’s Camp Nou once again.
