Janibek Alimkhanuly withdrew from the original July date after passing out during his weight cut

Make that 2-0 for the B-sides. Shortly after P2M Box Promotions topped Matchroom Boxing to claim ownership of Jaron Ennis vs Karen Chukhadzian 2, Dan Rafael reports that No Limit Boxing beat out Top Rank’s $350k bid for Janibek Alimkhanuly vs Andrei Mikhailovich with a Price-is-Right-ass $351k offering.

It’s got to be a tough pill to swallow for Bob Arum after their first planned meeting on ESPN fell apart at the eleventh hour thanks to unified champ Alimkhanuly (15-0, 10 KO) botching his weight cut and passing out due to dehydration. “Qazaq Style” hasn’t seen action since October of last year and has yet to entice any of his fellow champions into a unification bout.

He could theoretically ditch the IBF and just keep his WBO belt, but it’s not like he has a lot of better options at the moment. Plus, there’s a solid chance No Limit adds this bout to one of Tim Tszyu’s upcoming undercards, ensuring lots of desperately needed eyes on Alimkhanuly. Seems like a decently rewarding venture from where I’m sitting.
