Man Utd ‘scout Eberechi Eze as Ten Hag eyes winger transfer after Jadon Sancho exit’

MANCHESTER UNITED are “scouting and monitoring” Eberechi Eze as they eye up the Crystal Palace forward as Jadon Sancho’s replacement, according to reports.

Sancho, 24, joined Chelsea on loan on Deadline Day, with the deal including an obligation to buy for £23million at the end of the season.

Erik ten Hag has four senior wingers to choose from in his squad – Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Antony – as well as No10 Bruno Fernandes.

But with Sancho departing it is understood he is keen to bolster his options.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Man Utd have “scouted” Eze – who is expected to cost around £60million.

The England international, 25, has become Palace‘s talisman since the departure of Wilfried Zaha.

He scored 11 goals and assisted six in 31 games in all competitions last season.

He also earned his first England cap in June last year and has already accumulated nine international appearances.

Oliver Glasner’s men are even more reliant on Eze following Michael Olise‘s move to Bayern Munich.

But owner Steve Parish revealed earlier this month there was little interest in him during the summer transfer window.

Eze racked up 15 goal contributions in the Premier League last season

Parish told Sky Sports: “I was really worried from a club point of view of losing Michael and Ebbs in the same window and we didn’t have in Ebbs the interest that I thought we would have.

“I was astounded. Genuinely astounded. I mean, the guy’s just an outstanding footballer, an outstanding person.”

Eze, who has also attracted interest from Man City, had a release clause of £60m plus £8m in add-ons.

However, that clause has now expired so Palace can demand whatever fee they desire from Man Utd.
