Sven-Goran Eriksson’s ex Nancy Dell’Olio says her final goodbye at funeral of ‘love of her life’
SVEN-Goran Eriksson’s ex-partner Nancy Dell’Olio has arrived at his funeral to say her final goodbyes.
The former England manager, 76, tragically died in August after suffering from terminal pancreatic cancer.
Nancy and David Beckham greeted each other with a warm embrace[/caption]Nancy, 63, who dated Eriksson for ten years before they split in 2007, this morning arrived to say goodbye to the “love of her life”.
She wore black leather trousers paired with a black blazer, white blouse, heeled boots and a leopard print coat.
As she entered Fryksande Church in Sven’s hometown of Torsby, Sweden, footballing legend David Beckham gave her a warm embrace.
Nancy appeared on Good Morning Britain just two weeks ago, where she revealed her final conversation with long-time lover Sven.
She said: “I just said he was trying to put in the effort to say that he was fine on the phone because most of the time he was not answering or at treatment.
“I never thought that he was about to die.
“I always believed there would be some sort of miracle.
“I’m sorry.”
After Eriksson’s death, Nancy shared some unseen photos of herself with him during their time together.
Sven’s dad – also named Sven, his children Johan and Lina, and partner Yaniseth Alcides have been pictured arriving ahead of the service today.
Fellow former Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has also made the trip to pay his respects.
A coffin was seen earlier being carried inside, with a big screen outside projecting an image of Sven ahead of the service.
A source told The Sun: “David will be going to the funeral – he was very close to Sven and wants to say goodbye in person.
“It will be a low key appearance – he won’t be giving a eulogy or saying any words but will definitely be there.”
