Out of postseason contention, the Pittsburgh Pirates designated outfielder Michael A. Taylor and first baseman Rowdy Tellez and recalled outfielder Joshua Palacios and infielder Liover Peguero from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.
Taylor, 33, signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh in the offseason and hit .193 with five home runs, 12 stolen bases and 21 RBIs in 113 games.
