Padres recall RHP Randy Vasquez to face Diamondbacks

The San Diego Padres recalled right-hander Randy Vasquez from Triple-A El Paso on Saturday and optioned right-hander Alek Jacob.

Vasquez, 25, was set to start in Saturday's road game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was 4-7 with a 5.18 ERA in 19 starts with the Padres earlier this season. He is 6-9 with a 4.51 ERA in 30 appearances (24 starts) for the New York Yankees (2023)
