6 teams that could land Davante Adams in a Raiders trade (and why it probably won’t be the Chiefs)

The Las Vegas Raiders haven’t publicly signaled their intent to deal star wide receiver Davante Adams before the NFL’s November 5 trade deadline. Privately, however, there have been rumblings that suggest the three-time All-Pro is on the move.

Las Vegas landed Adams at the peak of his powers at a significant cost — first and second round picks shipped to the Green Bay Packers and a five-year, $140 million contract extension upon arrival. He rewarded that faith with a 1,500-yard season in 2022, but has since been downgraded from “great” to “good” thanks to the Raiders’ underwhelming quarterback play and the leg injury that kept him from the lineup in Week 4.

In the meantime, Las Vegas has looked like a team capable of upsetting actual contenders but not capable of being one. The Raiders may be headed toward a rebuild, which puts the status of a soon-to-be 32-year-old wideout in question. Head coach Antonio Pierce reportedly “liked” an Instagram post suggesting Adams could be dealt. Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Vincent Bonsignore suggested the team has quietly begun reaching out to teams to divine potential trades.

Then, on Tuesday afternoon, news broke Adams himself was in favor of a swap.

Any deal would have some moving parts and the Raiders are unlikely to recoup what they spent on the dynamic receiver. Adams would bring salary cap hits of $36.25 million and $37.25 million to his new team in the 2025 and 2026 seasons, respectively. Those are seasons in which he’d turn 33 and 34 years old, which is typically tough sledding at a position that depends heavily on athletic ability.

Still, teams should be interested. Here’s who could come calling for the six-time Pro Bowler.
