Everton new stadium adds extra feature with club to immortalise member of Sean Dyche’s squad
EVERTON’S new stadium will have a feature that will immortalise players both past and present, it has been revealed.
A commemorative fan wall has been announced as part of the ambitious stadium project located on Bramley-Moore Dock.
Dubbed “The Originals”, it will pay tribute to legends of the club and those who have captured the spirit of the Toffees on and off the pitch.
A club statement said the definition was: “Someone who embodies all that the Club stands for and its place in football history, known for a strong connection with supporters and the community… someone who has demonstrated comprehension of what it is to be ‘Everton’ – an understanding of who we are. ”
Among the names on the wall will be Dixie Dean – the club’s greatest ever goalscorer – The “Holy Trinity” of Alan Ball, Howard Kendall and Colin Harvey and “The last of the Corinthians”, Brian Labone.
Bob Latchford, a club hero in the 1970s, Graeme Sharp, the Blues’ highest living goalscorer and Neville Southall, Everton‘s record appearance maker and most decorated player, will also join them on the wall.
The club’s first black captain, Kevin Campbell, and fan favourite Tim Cahill will also be commemorated.
Only one member of the club’s current squad, Seamus Coleman, will be adorned on the wall.
It will also give supporters around the world the chance to be included on a stunning piece of mosaic artwork on a personalised stone.
Following consultation with fan groups, this initiative will see the wall comprised entirely of submitted fan photos that will be installed on its river-facing western side.

It follows the success of the Everton Way project, which similarly gave fans the chance to have a personalised stone outside of the stadiums’s South Stand.
However, fans will need to pay £45 to have their photo on the wall, with places already on sale for Season Ticket, Hospitality and Official Members while general sales being on October 8.
The stadium, estimated to cost a whopping £760million, is due to open next season and will seat 52,888 fans.
Another stunning feature of the ground recently saw the western wharf at the ground connected to the dock system to the Leeds-Liverpool canal.
