Josh Allen being on his own fantasy football team makes his TD pass to self that much better

After hearing about Josh Allen accepting a fantasy football trade for himself on behalf of a fan this summer, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear that Allen is on his own fantasy team too.

It makes sense. As an athlete who competes at the highest level, why wouldn’t you believe in yourself enough to draft yourself in fantasy leagues and allow your play on the field to help you in competitions off of it?

But even as that may be the case, it’s not something we as fans think about. At least not until something wild happens, like Allen being credited with a touchdown pass and catch on the same play and revealing after the game he owns himself in fantasy football. That’s what he did Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

Allen was legitimately thrilled to learn the play was scored as a touchdown pass and reception, making him the fourth player in NFL history to be credited with a TD pass to himself. “That’s pretty cool,” he said.

And that’s not all Allen did for himself — and his other fantasy managers. He also had a second passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in the game.
