Tommy Fury really thought Darren Till was going to kick him in the head.

Fury announced on Instagram Friday morning that he is dropping out of his anticipated showdown against Till at Misfits Boxing 20 on Jan. 18.

“I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025. For the one simple reason, Darren has stated over and over that he doesn’t want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is loosing (losing) the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics. I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp. We are working hard to get a new opponent and a new date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner,” Fury wrote on his Instagram story.

Upon hearing the news, Till was far from pleased and ripped Fury in a series of tweets.

I have only just found out that my team knew Tommy Fury was pulling out of the fight Sunday and didn’t want to tell me cos they were trying to get John Fury on the phone but he’s not answering calls apparently . Tommy you was never ready for that date you crazy shithouse don’t ever show ur face again!!!

Tommy Fury u are the biggest shithouse I have ever met in my life do not ever call yourself a fighter again I was selling the fight to make me and you more money you absolute empty head fighting family my ass you and ur dad shithouses I don’t need to throw kicks you was getting knocked spark out you divvy we was making bank on this fight cos of me not you I was building it you should be fighting and should be thanking me… over and out… no one wants to fight me… Jake Paul what are you upto you big fat dummy?

Just so everyone knows and is clear

Tommy Fury was the A side in this event

Which means he was getting more money and he gets to call the shots over me which is rightfully so

He’s the boxer and he’s the bigger name

So if this is the case he could not fight me and fight someone else

This is not happening Tommy has pulled out and I’m still main eventing on that date

Now I’m the A side and I call the shots

Opponent being found as we speak

I have always abided by the rules of fighting my whole life

I was building the fight with Tommy and saying things I knew he would shit himself from cos I know deep down he’s not a real fighting man

And now it’s come to fruition what I have said is true

He has pulled out and shown his true colours

See you all January 18th cos no matter what I’ll be there as I have always been

I always show up and always will for the fans whether you like me or not

Someone find John Fury for me cos he’s not answering the phone probably butting young coaches again or punching glass

KSI weighed in when he heard the news as well.

Former Fury opponent Jake Paul also added his two cents.

At the press conference last month to promote the event, Fury seemed to be worried about this comment by Till.

“At the end of the day, I can’t beat you, I’ll just kick you in the face in there,” Till said at the presser. “How about that?”

“I’m a proper fighter, not a boxer,” Till continued. “I don’t walk in a room like this and see boxing and go, ‘Shit.’ I walk in, no one here is a threat to me. Not one person in this room, security, you, your dad are not a threat to me. I’m an MMA fighter, so if I want to kick you or elbow you in the face, I will, and no one can do anything about it.”

With the news, Misfits Boxing 20 possibly needs a new main event. It appears Till is still in for next month’s fight card, but now needs a new opponent.
